I’d like to give props one more time to planningcenteronline.com. Holy Cow this thing has made my life much easier. I currently only have about 30 users loaded in, but we manage our entire production (video/lighting/audio/music) out of this thing. I went to a much larger church down the street and they use the exact same program to manage all of their resources as well – their ministry encompasses more like 150 volunteers in the same area (and that doesn’t include a choir). This resource is invaluable to choir directors, music and tech directors, and worship leader alike. It also gives our pastor the opportunity to check in as I’m developing set lists for the future and download and listen to the music for this week so he can also be the worship leader from the front row on Sunday mornings.

theworshipcommunity.com is a great resource for any worship leaders or band members who are looking to learn from or hook up with other worshipers. Fred McKinnon launched this site and it serves as a message board to deal with technical issues, spiritual issues, musical issues and everything else that has to do with worship. For any of you out there who post your textfessionals, worship confessionals or set lists, Fred’s now set something up so that our categories will feed directly in and post to the message boards. He loaded all my set lists in yesterday and I’ve already started getting hits back at my blog because of it. If you’re not interested in any of that – it’s still worth joining to glean knowledge from those more experienced than you or me!

I may be behind the ball on this one, but I just heard this guy doing some acoustic stuff on this week’s Relevant Podcast (http://www.relevantmag.com). I think I’ve heard this guy’s name before, but listening to him on the podcast gave me a total different vibe from him. I’m definitely getting his new album coming out on October 2nd.

After this weekend’s message, I thought I would make a recommendation on a book to help with Money Management. Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Made a gigantic difference for us but even bigger difference for my parents.
Free resources would include Dave’s website www.daveramsey.com and Crown Financial.
Have fun!

I’m not so sure how I feel about the album yet. I’m listening to it through for the 4th time. Nothing really strikes me as “the” song for UC. That’s just a first reaction…some albums are like that, you have to listen a couple of times until it strikes you. I had gotten really disappointed that everything coming from Hillsong these days sounds exactly the same, and this album doesn’t. It’s good to hear musical creativity from these folks again. Maybe something will stick out this time…who knows…

I just added My Savior Lives to my iPod Shuffle…good stuff! Ross Parsley and his team (Jon Egan, Glenn Packiam, and Jared Anderson) are some amazing worship leaders and song writers. I’ve loved most of the stuff they’ve put out. They’ve got some good fast stuff (as usual) and some amazingly intimate stuff as well. I really love My Savoir Lives, and Everyone. We’ll probably be adding those both to the repitoir (sp?) at the UC. My favorite from the CD definitely has to be Here in Your Presence and the reprise to go with it. If you’d like to listen to a couple of the songs on their new cd, visit their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/newlifeworshipexperience).
